My name is Cami, and welcome to my page! I’m currently a stay at home mom to a wonderful 3 year old and a wife to the best husband! I was a special education teacher for 13 years and worked with students with special needs that ranged from mild to severe disabilities. I’ve worked with students with auditory processing deficits, intellectually disabled students, and students with behavioral issues. I have the most experience working with students with autism. I believe all students will benefit from interventions used in special education classrooms.

What does this have to do with my blog? My husband and I both worked full-time, and we had to recalibrate our priorities when our son was born. We figured, I have over a decade’s worth of expertise in child development and have a healthy repertoire of techniques and strategies in shaping kids across a wide variety of areas, why not apply that to this person I created? When my husband and I talked over the pros and cons of my continued work versus staying at home to raise our child, we chose the latter. So I quit my teaching position to focus fully on raising our son. I am thankful and feel so fortunate to be able to share my process of transferring my expertise into parenting, and my husband and I are both happy that we have this opportunity to raise our son in this way.

This blog is my way of processing and filtering all my experience and knowledge in the field of special education and transferring it to parenthood. Join me as I navigate parenthood, starting with effective potty training strategies for your toddler!
